NEW DELHI: A 23-year-old man travelling on a train was allegedly abused and assaulted by two unidentified persons as he was watching a reel on the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack .
According to the government railway police (GRP), a case has been registered against the two accused. The victim said that he was travelling on the Bhopal-Indore passenger train on April 27 and was watching a reel related to the terror attack on his mobile phone.
Suddenly, the two accused started arguing and blaming the victim for watching the reel by looking at them. He added that the two unidentified men, during the dispute over the reel, said objectionable things about India and the Constitution.
He also told GRP that the two men had also tried to throw him off the moving train.
Following the dispute, the 23-year-old victim reached the GRP police station. Based on his complaint, a case was registered against the two people under Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) sections 118 (1) (intentionally causing hurt by dangerous means), 296 (abuse), 351 (criminal intimidation) and other relevant provisions.
GRP Station House Officer Rashmi Patidar told PTI that efforts are under way to identify the accused based on video and CCTV footage of the incident.
"The youth says that the accused had threatened to throw him off the moving train. Due to this, the section related to threatening has been added in the FIR," the GRP station in-charge said.
