A two-and-a-half-year-old boy died after falling into an open sewer in outer north Delhi’s Khera Khurd village during heavy rain on Saturday morning, police said.
The tragedy occurred around 10:30 am on Furni Road, while the child was playing outside his home. When his parents could no longer see him, they raised an alarm and called the police.
According to police, the boy was pulled out of the sewer and rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
The matter was reported at Narela Industrial Area Police Station at around 11:15 am, officials added.
