New Delhi: Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag criticised Ishan Kishan for walking off the field during the IPL 2025 match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians , despite not being out. The incident occurred in the third over when Kishan mistakenly thought he had edged a delivery from Deepak Chahar , leaving without waiting for the umpire's decision or any appeal from the opposition.
Sunrisers Hyderabad suffered their sixth defeat in eight matches, keeping them at the ninth position in the tournament standings.

The controversial moment happened on the first ball of the third over during Hyderabad's innings when Kishan attempted to glance a leg-side delivery from Chahar. Video replays confirmed that neither his bat nor body made contact with the ball.
"Many times, the mind fails to work at that moment. It was brain fade. Stop at least and wait for the umpire to make his decision. He is also charging some amount of money for his job," Sehwag commented while speaking on Cricbuzz .
"Let him do his work. I could not understand this honesty. Had it been an edge, it would have been understandable because that would be in the spirit of the game. But it was neither out; the umpire was unsure and you started walking off all of a sudden," Sehwag added.
The dismissal continued Kishan's poor form in the tournament, following his century in the opening game.
Hyderabad's batting performance was below par, with Kishan's premature departure for just one run adding to their struggles against the Mumbai bowlers.
Sunrisers Hyderabad will face Chennai Super Kings in their next match on April 25 at Chennai's home ground.
