Popular YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT winner Elvish Yadav recently shared an emotional and personal connection to the tragic Pahalgam terror attack that claimed the lives of 27 people, including a brave Navy officer, Vinay Narwal. In a heartfelt vlog, Elvish revealed that the officer’s wife, Himanshi, is someone he once knew well during his college days.
While watching news coverage of the incident, Elvish came across a viral video of the grieving widow. At first, he didn’t recognize her. But upon closer look, he was shocked to realize that it was Himanshi, his former college mate from Hansraj College.
“I passed out in 2018 and since then we had not spoken at all. Gurgaon is my city. We used to enjoy so much… we used to go to the metro station together. I had her number but I did not call her because it is not possible for anyone to pick up your phone at that time and tell you,” he said. “I was shocked. I didn’t call her because now is not a good time to talk.”
Elvish reached out to a mutual friend instead, who tried calling Himanshi multiple times. “She didn’t pick up the first 30 calls, but finally picked up on the 31st,” he shared. He also asked if the reports on television were true — especially the claim that terrorists asked victims about their religion before attacking. “My friend confirmed that everything being shown on TV was true,” he added.
The horrifying incident has left the country in mourning. Elvish’s account has added a deeply personal layer to the tragedy, reminding everyone that behind every headline, there are real people and heartbreaking stories. He also requested people not to post Ghibli images and share personal stories from Kashmir, which are insensitive at the moment. Elvish mentioned why he never visited Kashmir and his decision has been justified.
