Prayagraj: A joint team of the Special Task Force (STF) and Palghar (Maharashtra) police on Wednesday arrested a criminal identified as Sangamlal Vishwakarma, a resident of Lalapur. He was wanted by Maharastra police in connection with a fraud case registered with Nayagav police station of Palghar district of Maharastra state under section 314(4), 318(4), 336(3), 338, 238, 3(5) of BNS.
Police have also seized a mobile and an Aadhaar card from his possession. The arrested fraudster told police that he was an accountant at a private firm in Palghar. He had been staying with his family in Palghar for the past six years. He admitted to making financial bungling in the company accounts and transferred money into his wife's account. When company officials started probing the case, Vishwakarma left the job in February this year and escaped to his hometown. The company authorities later registered an FIR regarding the incident.
