Prayagraj: ‘Reading is not complete in itself; it is writing that makes a person complete,' said Allahabad University vice-chancellor, Prof Sangita Srivastava, at the inauguration of a two-day workshop on Creative English Writing, held at AU on Thursday. Addressing the students as the chief guest, she emphasised the importance of creativity and storytelling in learning. She condemned the recent tragic terrorist attack in Kashmir, and a moment of silence was observed in remembrance of the victims.
Renowned writer and Sahitya Akademi awardee prof Neelum Saran Gour, a keynote speaker, shared her emotional connection with the university. Former diplomat and author Vikas Swarup also mentored the students on the art of writing. Workshop coordinator prof SI Rizvi shed light on the evolution of Earth and humanity. Of 140, only 25 students were selected for the workshop. The event was moderated by Arup Achary, with a vote of thanks delivered by Shaifali Nandan. tnn
