Homeowners or renters looking to upgrade their broadband speeds could find a much cheaper deal this month by comparing the likes of and with a lesser-known rival. EE is currently offering UK shoppers up to £300 if they switch over to its broadband plans, but another deal has caught our eye, and it could be worth looking at.
is offering some shoppers a saving of up to £527 for those who pick its 500Mbps broadband plan. It's all down to a new flash sale from the provider, as it cuts the price down to £20 per month - the only catch being it's a locked-in 24-month plan.
The new deal ends next week, on June 5, but it could be worth shoppers weighing up against other UK providers to see if it'll offer a cheaper price, just a quick look at Sky for instance shows its priced at £11 more expensive per month for the same 500Mbps speeds.
EE stands out with its for UK consumers. This deal, which many UK consumers may not know that it pays leaving fees to ditch another provider, allowing shoppers to potentially lock into a cheaper deal at EE. However, having a look with my postcode at EE, the provider would charge me a much more expensive £34.99 per month for the same 500Mbps download speeds - Community Fibre is now offering the same for £20 a month.
When it comes to contract length, EE, Sky and Community Fibre all match with the same 24-month deal for billpayers. Alternatively, does offer a rolling 'no contract broadband' for shoppers in need of more flexibility, although a higher price should be excepted for this.
is recommended for users who enjoy watching TV and streaming content in ultra-high definition. It could also be beneficial to at-home workers who rely on speed for clear calls. The plan also comes with a router, which consumers won't need to pay a penny for it to be installed at home.
However, the catch is postcodes, as it only serves parts of London, so anyone living out of the city will miss out on the deal. Its biggest downside is quite obviously the range, however, it does have a strong 4.6-rating on Turstpilot.
As one shopper said: "Very impressed so far. Community Fibre made it very easy to transition from BT. I've gone from 1gb internet costing £100 a month to 5gb internet for £60 a month."
A second shopper highlighted how quickly one issue was resolved and said: "My broadband speed was lower than expected. I was told it would be at top speed, which it clearly wasn't. I called customer support, and they helped me fix the issue.
"The only reason I didn't give five stars is that it took a bit too long to resolve. If the process had been quicker, I might have rated five stars."
