Roy Keane has dismissed the notion that Manchester United are "back" following Sunday's 2-1 triumph over Liverpool, although he conceded it was a "huge" result for Ruben Amorim and his team.
After a much-needed 2-0 victory against Sunderland prior to the international break, United hit the ground running and took an early lead at Anfield. Bryan Mbeumo put the Reds ahead within two minutes, sprinting behind the defence before blasting the ball past Giorgi Mamardashvili.
Liverpool managed to pull level in the second half courtesy of Cody Gakpo, but Amorim's men rallied and regained the lead late in the game. The decisive goal came from Harry Maguire, who nodded home a superb cross from Bruno Fernandes to secure United's second consecutive Premier League win.
When Sky Sports presenter Kelly Cates questioned whether United were back on track after successive victories, Keane was quick to dismiss the idea. "I wouldn't go as far as to say Man United are back but it's a huge win for them," he stated.
"We've all been critical of this group of players over the last year but on today's performance, they showed grit. They stuck at it and you felt they had goals in them."
"It's a big moment for these players and they should enjoy it. But now they have to kick on."
Gary Neville then gave his assessment of the match and United's victory. "What a moment for Ruben Amorim. He needed something, the pressure was building but a win at Anfield is huge," he commented post-match.
"It's a great place for Manchester United to win a game of football. It's a big period coming up, the manager is under pressure and they pulled something out of the bag and they have to make sure this is the start of something."

The outcome has lifted United to ninth position in the Premier League standings on 13 points from their opening eight fixtures.
They are positioned just two points behind Liverpool, who have now suffered three consecutive defeats in the top flight, in fourth.
Bruno Fernandes shared his thoughts post-match and acknowledged it's an "important" victory for United.
"It's always good to win games," the Portuguese star told Sky Sports.
"We know what this kind of games means for our club and fans and also for ourselves in the moment we are right now. It's really important because we needed three points.
"We know what it means for the fans and for the club to play this kind of rivalry. It's been a long time since the club won at Anfield. It's very important and happy to do it today."
