The Sussexes have been spotted trick-or-treating with their children in California - but Prince Harry apparently forgot one key thing...his costume. Meghan Markle, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet all reportedly dressed up in bug-theme outfits for the spooky tradition on Friday, but the Duke seemingly decided against fancy dress.
Photos show the Duke instead rocking brown shoes, blue jeans and a navy polo, as well as sunglasses and a light blue cap. Meghan can be seen in a black tracksuit, white trainers and dark sunglasses and what has been described in reports as butterfly wings. The couple previously revealed in their four-part 2022 Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan, that Halloween holds a special place in their hearts.
They shared that they once enjoyed an incognito night out during the spooky season in 2016 as their relationship was on the verge of being revealed in the media.
Meghan said: "Harry said, 'Well, if it's going to come out tomorrow, let's go and have fun tonight.
"We were like, 'Well, this might be our last shot to just go out and have fun in the world."
The Sussexes moved to California in 2020 after stepping down as senior Royals and live in Montecito.
However, the family were spotted trick-or-treating on a suburban street in nearby Santa Barbara, according to the Daily Mail.
Archie, 6, was wearing an ant costume and Lilibet, 4, was dressed as a green firefly, the Mail reported.
Days earlier, the Sussexes got into the Halloween festivities as they visited a pumpkin patch.
Meghan on Sunday shared a video on her Instagram account of Archie and Lilibet looking around, before clips of the family carving pumpkins back at home.
The Sussexes' trick-or-treating appearance comes after a turbulent week for the Royal Family.
The King on Thursday decided to formally strip his brother Andrew of his Prince and Duke of York titles and HRH style amid his links to paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein.
He is now known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor and has always strongly denied any wrongdoing.
Andrew has also agreed to leave the 30-room Royal Lodge mansion in Windsor Great Park.
