Customers are raving over the "best ever" bakery snack launched by Marks and Spencer today. The supermarket teased the seasonal chocolatey treat one week ago, while also confirming the highly anticipated return of the Gingerbread and White Chocolate Cookies for the festive season.
On November 5, the "hotly anticipated" Peppermint Bark Cookies launched at in-store bakeries, driving shoppers into a frenzy. M&S described them as made with dark and white chocolate, mint crunch and a touch of peppermint oil, inspired by the sell-out Peppermint Bark tin, which makes them "ideal for dunking in a cuppa for ultimate gooeyness".
The Instagram launch post last week revealed: "Excitement levels have been soaring for the return of our Gingerbread & White Chocolate Cookies. Now the countdown is on for the arrival of their minty cookie cousin to our in-store bakeries."
One shopper said they are "devastatingly delicious" while another added: "M&S OH MY GOODNESS you outdo yourself".
A third satisfied customer said they were an "absolute 10/10" and were the "best cookies M&S have ever done" on the Facebook page Newfoodsuk, where shoppers share new supermarket finds.
However, some customers were still hung up on the fan favourite from last year, the viral gingerbread and white chocolate cookies, which shoppers described as "one of the best supermarket cookies we've ever had" on social media.
Even during the launch for Peppermint Bark, shoppers were calling for M&S to confirm the gingerbread snack would return. They are currently retailing for £4.00 on the M&S website.
Asda has unveiled its own gingerbread and white chocolate cookies in the lead-up to Christmas, with five soft cookies retailing for £1.23.
