After almost seven years together, one Coronation Street couple will be calling it quits after a shocking double affair twist. The beloved Weatherfield duo, who also endured a tragic cancer battle, will part ways in a devastating split. After months of disagreements, the fan-favourite Abi Webster (played by Sally Carman-Duttine) will tell her husband Kevin (Michael Le Vell) that she wants to part ways after being issued with an ultimatum by her sister-in-law, Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney). The couple first began dating in 2018 and married on the soap in 2021; however, the end of their marriage is ahead, as viewers will remember that Abi had been having an affair with Kevin's much younger brother, Carl Webster, over the past few months.
Although Abi has been plotting to leave Kevin for his brother, but felt conflicted and aimed to support him during his cancer battle. After learning the good news that her husband has received the all-clear, Abi had a major wobble when Kevin began planning their future together. This forced her to come clean and admit that she has been wanting to break up. During an emotional conversation, Abi was left overwhelmed when Kevin suggested that they buy a dog and begin fixing cars together.
Fed up with the pretence, Abi asked her husband: "Kev, first the dog, and now this? I am sorry but I can't do any of it."
A confused Kevin asked, "Why not?" Abi replied, "Because I think we should break up. I am so sorry."
Stunned by her admission, the mechanic said: "I love you, and you love me. There's no buts, we love each other, that's all that matters. The rest is just stuff we can work on."
As Abi attempted to explain her reasons for wanting to leave him, Kevin immediately concluded that Carl was responsible.
However, Abi shut down the assumptions as she lied: "You've got to listen to me, this has got nothing to do with anybody else." Although Kevin refused to listen, Abi shot back at him for trying to find "someone to blame".
Later in the episode, Kevin also confronted his younger brother Carl who also vehemently denied an affair.
Abi was issued the ultimatum after she was caught by Debbie sneaking around and having a hotel room key in her possession.
Although he denied cheating and said it was an old forgotten key from a hotel stay in the past, Debbie wasn't having it, as she later threatened to tell Kevin everything and demanded that Abi pack up and move out of No. 13.
With her character's potential exit on the cards, Abi star Sally Carman-Duttine previously opened up about her future on Emmerdale and told The Sun: "I see Corrie in my future and I'm hoping they do.
"Do you know what? If it was all to end tomorrow, I would literally be going out with the biggest thank-you, because I came in for six episodes and here I am."
