Anne Nolan has revealed her heartbreaking cancer battle during an appearance on Loose Women.
The singer, 74, joined her younger sister Coleen Nolan, Ruth Langsford, Dame Kelly Holmes, and Nadia Sawalha on Tuesday's installement of the ITV daytime show to help raise awareness of breast cancer.
Anne opened-up about being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2000, before the disease returned in 2020.
After a round of treatments and a procedure, Anne was recently informed by doctors that she was 'cancer free', which left the star in tears.
She explained: "So we have a mammogram every year if you have had breast cancer. And then at the end of five years, you have your final mammogram, and they tell you then if it has all gone.
"I got my letter through the post and I didn't open it for about two hours as I was so scared it was going to be bad news."
She added: "Eventually I opened it and it was good news, it said I was cancer free so that was amazing."
Ruth asked: "What did you do? Do you cry? Or are you silent?"
Anne replied: "No I cried. I was so worried the letter was going to say I need to go back, so when it said, 'I'm happy to tell you you're cancer free...'"
The singer then went on to explain that her five year result doesn't mean the cancer will not return again in the future.
She added: "I think that is always what you live with when you have had cancer, there is always a chance it could come back again."
Cancer has significantly affected the Nolan family after the sisters lost Bernie, 52, in 2013 after a three year battle with breast cancer.
Meanwhile their other sister Linda had also been diagnosed with incurable cancer after she was first diagnosed with stage-three breast cancer in 2005 before getting the all-clear in 2006.
But the disease sadly returned in 2017 and spread to her liver and brain. Linda died in Janaury 2025.
Loose Women airs weekdays at 12:30pm on ITV and ITVX
