Autumn is a great time for lawn seed and Amazon shoppers are praising 'speedy' solution

While the nights are drawing in and there's a faint chill in the air, it doesn't mean it's time to abandon the garden until the spring.

The 2.8kg pack should do the job for most gardens, however, covering 168m² for rejuvenative efforts or 84m² for anyone looking to lay a brand-new lawn.

For those anticipating multiple jobs, who have a front lawn to worry about too, or who would rather have some left in stock, then this 2.8kg pack should tick most lawn boxes. That said, for those looking to re-seed a much larger area, it's probably best to spring for the 7kg option.

Pronto Seed promises quick germination and luscious results, with anywhere between a week and a fortnight being enough to rejuvenate those worn-out patches. "I had originally decided to use lawn rolls to create an instant garden effect, however obtaining rolls had become a challenge," began one five-star appraisal. "On reading the information provided for this product and the fact that a customer service helpline was provided, I decided to give this a try. I can honestly say this seed is excellent and at the price it's a fraction of the cost I would have had if I had bought lawn rolls. There were some issues noted: "Only issue was that the box was damaged (either in the warehouse or during packing) and was put in a bag so grass seed had escaped - not a major issue though," said one four-star appraisal. "Can tell it's a different colour to our existing grass but then, as the new turf is also a different colour, we don't care!"

Another four-star review noted that it took a couple of attempts to get the desired results. "The 1st time we used these the seeds didn't take so we tried again, this time putting netting over the seeds to prevent birds and our pets walking on them," they said. "We only seeded a small area, but with plenty of watering every evening the seeds have taken, but not as well as we'd have liked."
