Anthony Joshua thinks the world will simply "move on" should it never see the heavyweight take on in the squared-circle. The twp fighters have had a long-standing rivalry over the course of their respective careers, despite a fight between them never materialising.

And it appears as though the boat may have set sail forever regarding facing the 'Gypsy King', given that Fury announced his retirement in January following back-to-back losses to . While the boxing world will undoubtedly mourn not having the chance to see one of history's most exciting fights between the two men in their prime, Joshua has insisted that he's still trying to make it happen. When asked by iFL TV about if missing a fight with Fury would grain on him, AJ said: "50/50.

"No because you can never look back. It is what it is, you know what I mean? I think for me, if you know my mentality, it's like it is what it is, isn't it? But then at the same time, as a fight fan and as a fighting person, I want to fight all the challengers in my generation.

"I've already signed to fight Fury a few times, and you can never fault me for that. Then they had the arbitration with , then they tried to blacklist me when they had their trilogy. Fury's called me out and said, 'He's got 24 hours to sign a contract.' I've been through it with that guy.

"So from my end, it would be annoying but I 100 per cent have tried." Joshua also made two vows in making the Fury fight materialise, adding: "I'll do everything I can to make it happen, and I'll hang around as long as I have to to make it happen. That's on my end, I can't control what another man is going to do."

When iFL suggested it would be a "travesty" if a fight between Joshua and Fury didn't materialise, the Briton disagreed, adding: "I don't think it would be," with a wry smile. He said: "I think people move on quick. Just life, happened and everyone's moved on.

"I always think...that's my perspective of life. Rest in peace to our but she passed away, the world just moves on. It's nuts, you know." Reflecting further, he added: "I was thinking on a global scale - I think in the pubs and stuff like that it'll be like, 'F***ing hell, Fury and Joshua didn't fight.' But I think on a global scale, I don't think it matters that much."
