Bhubaneswar: Governor and Chancellor of state public universities has extended the term of vice-chancellor of Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) Pravat Kumar Roul by another three years.
The extension will be effective from September 9 or until further orders, whichever is earlier, the official notification said on Monday.
Roul was working as managing director of the Agricultural Promotion and Investment Corporation of Odisha (APICOL) when he was appointed VC on September 9, 2022, for a period of three years. An alumnus of the university, he worked as a teacher, researcher and administrator at the institute before joining APICOL. He was dean extension, dean veterinary and director of planning, monitoring and evaluation in OUAT.
He has also published 24 books and successfully guided nine PhD scholars.
In February this year, Roul was honoured with ‘Outstanding Vice-Chancellor of India Award’ by India Education Summit ’25.
