A horrifying murder case from Thane district, near Mumbai, has sent shockwaves across Maharashtra. The incident bears a disturbing resemblance to the Raja Raghuvanshi murder case of Indore, where a wife conspired with her lover to kill her husband. This time, a woman named Manisha Parmar allegedly murdered her husband with the help of her lover and disposed of his body in the Ulhas River. Police have since arrested both the accused.
The Shocking DiscoveryAccording to reports, the crime took place in Badlapur West, a suburban locality of Thane. The victim, Kisan Parmar (44), was a local businessman who lived with his wife Manisha, and their three children. Due to frequent business trips, Kisan often spent time away from home — a situation that reportedly allowed Manisha to develop a close relationship with Laxman Bhoir (36), a married man living in the same building.
As the illicit relationship deepened, Kisan grew suspicious. When he confronted Manisha about her affair, it led to heated arguments and growing tension within the family. According to police, these confrontations eventually pushed the accused to plan her husband’s murder.
The Murder Plot and ExecutionPolice investigations revealed that Manisha and her lover executed their plan late Friday night while Kisan was asleep. The duo allegedly strangled him with a rope, and when he resisted, they beat him brutally before ensuring he was dead.
After committing the murder, they wrapped the body in a mattress to avoid suspicion. Around midnight, they carried the corpse on a motorcycle and rode towards Valavali Bridge near the Ulhas River. There, under the cover of darkness, they dumped the body into the river and fled the scene.
Police Investigation and ArrestsThe crime came to light the following morning when locals noticed suspicious activity near the river and alerted the police. Responding swiftly, the Badlapur West Police launched an investigation and coordinated with fire brigade personnel to retrieve the body from the river.
An FIR was filed under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections 103(1) for murder and 238 for destruction of evidence. Police traced the accused based on witness statements and technical surveillance, leading to the arrest of Manisha Parmar and Laxman Bhoir within 24 hours.
Confirming the arrests, police officer Kishor Shinde from Badlapur West station said, “Both accused have been taken into custody. Their confession and the evidence recovered so far confirm their involvement in the murder. The investigation is ongoing to determine the full sequence of events.”
Echoes of the Raja Raghuvanshi CaseThe incident mirrors the June 2025 Indore murder case, in which Sonam Raghuvanshi killed her husband Raja with the help of her lover. That crime also involved betrayal, manipulation, and a chilling attempt to erase evidence — drawing nationwide attention for its brutality.
Just like in the Raghuvanshi case, Manisha’s act appears to have been driven by her extramarital affair, ultimately leading her to commit one of the most gruesome crimes seen in Thane in recent months.
Community Shock and Police CautionResidents of Badlapur expressed disbelief over the murder, calling it “a tragic example of how obsession and betrayal can destroy families.” Locals who knew the couple described Kisan as a hardworking and soft-spoken man devoted to his children.
Police have urged citizens to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity immediately. They also warned against the rising number of relationship-driven crimes, urging people to seek legal or psychological help instead of resorting to violence.
ConclusionThe Thane murder case has once again highlighted the dark side of illicit relationships and emotional manipulation. What began as a secret affair ended in a cold-blooded killing, shattering three young lives and leaving an entire community stunned.
As the investigation continues, authorities are determined to ensure justice for the victim and set a strong example against such heinous acts motivated by infidelity and greed.
