A fresh DLC is on the horizon for Assassin's Creed Japanese escapade, promising a mysterious new island teeming with formidable enemies, novel weapons, and an additional ten hours of gameplay for fans to immerse themselves in.

Assassin's Creed Shadows was a pleasant surprise for many gamers who had lost faith that the franchise's identity had become confused in its attempt to be too many things at once, neglecting its stealthy origins – even if it does bear a striking resemblance to Ghost of Tsushima.

The game was a fantastic addition to the series which has, for the most part, evolved over time. Despite its stunning visuals impressing players and its gameplay adapting well to its new setting, it hasn't quite achieved the status of beloved titles in gaming history that its clear inspiration has – so Ubisoft is seizing the chance to expand the already incredibly vast experience, even following Assassin's Creed Mirage's addition to Game Pass.

A new DLC pack is en route from the developers, poised to transport players to the island of Awaji in pursuit of hidden treasures and new weapons to defeat the latest group of threatening foes. In Claws of Awaji, players will have the opportunity to master Naoe's new Bo weapon, confront the intimidating trackers the Sanzoku Ippa and delve into what Ubisoft assures is a whopping 10 hours of new content.

If it delivers on its promises, there's plenty to look forward to – but when exactly can we expect it to drop?
