It seems autumn has already arrived, with colder weather and rain set to hit the UK as we move into September, which means now is the perfect time to start shopping for your go-to autumn boots. Whilst there’s plenty of designer pairs that have caught my eye recently, my budget means I need to go more high street rather than high end, so when I spotted two pairs of luxury-looking boots on ASOS, I didn’t hesitate to snap them up.
The Colton Premium Leather Harness Trucker Knee Boots in Camel and the Caspia Premium Suede Trucker Pull On Boots in Tan both look just like several pairs of boots you can pick up at Chloé this season. But rather than spending almost £1800 on them, I managed to nab them both for almost £1500 less.

The Chloé 40mm Dakota Boots were originally priced at £885 but are currently on sale for £708, and are the perfect hybrid between the two ASOS boots I picked up. They’re made from a tan suede similar to the Caspia Suede Trucker Boots (£150), with harness details and a western flair that looks just like the Colton Leather Harness Trucker Knee Boots (£155).
Both pairs of ASOS boots are also made from real leather which gives them a luxurious, premium look and feel, and have high end details like contrast stitching, square toes and rubber soles. Another pair of designer boots that had elements of both ASOS boots was the Chloé Neva Leather Boots which were £935 but are now £468.

These Chloé boots feature the same simple silhouette as the Caspia ones, but are made from a light tan leather, just like the Colton boots. If I were to snap up both pairs of the Chloé boots, I’d be paying £1820 before the discount, or £1176 after the sale.
However, I got my hands on both pairs at ASOS for £305; a saving of either £1515 or £871, depending on if you bought the Chloé pairs pre or post discount. And that’s without factoring in the frequent discount codes ASOS offers!
Both the Caspia Suede Trucker Boots and the Colton Leather Harness Trucker Boots have already proven invaluable in my autumn wardrobe, and can be worn in so many different ways with so many different outfits. From western-inspired fits with lots of denim, to wide leg trousers and even shorts or oversized sweatshirts, they bring a chic and slightly 70s vibe to my autumn wardrobe.
They’re also incredibly comfortable, with flexible soles and plenty of grip. The leg shafts on both are wide enough to comfortably fit jeans, leggings or even thick socks into them, whilst making bare legs look slimmer due to the space around them.

One thing I will say is don’t wear white socks with them. I made that error during the first wear and found my socks dyed irreparably black. I have yet to wear them with anything light coloured tucked inside, like trousers or tights, but I imagine the same principle applies – dark colours only on the inside, at least until you’ve worn them a few times.
If the price tag of the Caspia Suede Trucker Boots and the Colton Leather Harness Trucker Knee Boots are still a little out of budget for you, there are some other options on the high street that’ll save you even more money. At Schuh, the Damari Leather Pull On Boots in Tan are £95 and made from real leather, whilst H&M has a pair of Knee-High Biker Boots for £74.99 which come in three colours of either faux suede or faux leather.
Meanwhile at Free People you can pick up Jeffrey Campbell’s Kira Harness Boots for the pricier cost of £298, but these also feature a zip fastening, rather than pull on, which may make them easier to wear.
However, I plan on getting so much wear out of my Caspia Suede Trucker Boots and Colton Leather Harness Trucker Knee Boots this autumn, that the cost per wear will definitely work out in my favour, making them a great investment. You can also pick up both pairs in other colours, including chocolate brown and black, not to mention both leather and suede finished on the Caspia boots.
