A massive sinkhole has appeared by a primary school forcing the road to be closed and a barrier is in place.
Worrying pictures show the sinkhole on Bryn Llidiard, Bridgend, outside Litchard Primary School, which has remained open. Emergency services have attended the scene and the cause of the sinkhole is currently being investigated. The road is closed for traffic from Litchard Hill to Cross Street, while parents have been asked to walk their children to and from school. And Bridgend council said it will issue an update once further details have been confirmed.
A spokesman for the council shared: "An emergency road closure is in place on Bryn Llidiard outside Litchard Primary School due to a sinkhole. The cause of the sinkhole is currently being investigated.

"While the road is closed to traffic, the school is currently open as normal. Parents/carers have been contacted and are being asked to walk children to and from school.
"Please be aware that there is no vehicle access to the school from Bryn Llidiard. Local congestion and delays expected.
We will update with more information once further details have been confirmed."

And Litchard Primary School issued a statement, reportedly saying: "Parents and carers have been asked to walk pupils to and from school as much as possible for the immediate future.
Local resident Alexa Ali said the hole appeared on Monday afternoon, with the road collapsing after a car drove past. She told the BBC: "With the school, with the congestion that we get around here, it's making things worse so hopefully it does get sorted soon." And Tracy, who also lives locally, also said: "Parents are being urged to walk children to ease congestion," reported WalesOnline.
People have also taken to social media to comment on the incident. "Yep all blocked off only about a metre square on the surface but deep and further erosion beneath road/ path," wrote one person on Facebook, while another stated: "Not surprising the road is full of potholes by the school."
Meanwhile, last month motorists facedtraffic chaos with an entire road closed for more than a week due to a sinkhole claimed to be the size of a 10p coin.
The blocked-off street in Cowes on the Isle of Wight is 79 metres long, more than 3,000 times the circumference of the actual hole. The local highway maintenance authority, Island Roads, said the closure is due to a 'larger void' beneath the road's surface. Local Josie Parsons said there were far worse roads on the island that needed dealing with. She said: "Oh come on Island Roads.
"I know of worse roads than that 10 pence hole. Have you got no sense? The sooner your contract with the council ends the better, it can't come soon enough as far as I'm concerned."
