Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batting star Virat Kohli jumped at all-rounder Romario Shepherd, who claimed the massive wicket of Shreyas Iyer in the IPL 2025 match against the Punjab Kings in Mullanpur. The right-handed batter expressed his excitement as Shepherd struck in his first over of the innings as a video of the same surfaced on social media.
Shepherd had replaced Liam Livingstone in the playing eleven for the all-important game against the Punjab Kings, given the latter's inconsistent returns with the bat. The dismissal occurred in the eighth over of the innings when Rajat Patidar threw the ball to Shepherd. With Iyer trying to flick it through the on-side, all the right-hander managed was a leading edge and Krunal Pandya took a tumbling catch after running in from long-on.
Here's the video of Kohli's celebration with Shepherd:
Pandya notably had also been involved in taking the wickets of openers Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya as they got off the blocks quickly.
Rajat Patidar had won the toss and elected to field first
The coin toss had fallen in favour of Rajat Patidar, who had opted to field first, claiming that he doesn't expect the pitch to change much.
