Why is immersion done after Ganesh Utsav?
Unnao's astrologer Rishikant Mishra says that the tradition of Ganesh Utsav and immersion started in Maharashtra. Because Lord Ganesha from North India went to Maharashtra to meet his brother Kartikeya. He stayed there for 10 days. After this, he was given a farewell with respect. The immersion started after this day. Apart from this, the message is given through immersion that Lord Ganesha goes back to his world after ending all the obstacles.
What will happen if you do not immerse the Ganesh idol?
According to the astrologer, it is necessary to immerse for 10 days after the Ganesh Puja. According to religious beliefs, not doing so can cause a defect. If you keep the idol in the house only for the purpose of decoration or worship and do not do proper installation or immersion, then it is not considered a defect from the religious point of view.
