Shreyas Iyer (six off 10) and Nehal Wadhera (five off six) had quite underwhelming outings with the bat. Priyansh Arya (22 off 15) and Prabhsimran Singh (33 off 17) got off to a positive start but could not capitalise on their respective starts.

Earlier in the day, RCB announced Romario Shepherd to come in for Liam Livingstone. Iyer announced an unchanged XI from their previous game. For the unversed, the two sides locked horns against each other on Friday, April 18. PBKS registered a five-wicket victory at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in a rain-curtailed contest.

Ahead of the current fixture, PBKS and RCB occupied third and fifth position on the points table, respectively. Both sides have played seven games in . However, RCB possess a better net run rate than PBKS (+0.446 vs +0.308). RCB have a solid opportunity of getting to the double-digit mark on the points table, provided they win the current encounter.
