What will happen if the match is washed out?If there has to be a result to this game a minimum of five overs need to be bowled in the second innings. If it does not happen and it rains so much so that no further play is possible the game will be abandoned. Both teams will get one point each.
As of now, there is no information on cut-off times because the rain has not made its presence felt yet. Fans would hope rain does not impact the game and they get to see a full match.
Could both teams' tournament be affected by a wash-out?The Punjab Kings have only lost two games so far and this would be their sixth win which could get them closer to the playoffs. The only thing the potential wash-out might affect is their chance of making it to the top two which is an advantage. There are a lot of teams which will be fighting for those two spots.
RCB’s season might be affected more since they have already lost three games and will be wanting to make a comeback in this game. If the game is washed out or the team loses on DLS this could give a chance to other teams outside the top four to turn their season around with a few wins.
